Rose Geranium is a plant for dramatic shifts and transformation, of both the skin and the spirit. Versatile enough to assist with most any skin concern. Hand-harvested and distilled from our biodynamic farm.

SKIN
Rose Geranium’s antioxidant compounds strengthen and firm fragile skin, softening the appearance of broken capillaries and fine lines. This medicinal herb’s tonifying nature is what soothes signs of rosacea over time. For dry skin, oily skin, or somewhere in between, Rose Geranium Hydrosol is a master of sebum regulation, bringing it back to equilibrium. The phenolic compounds found within its vibrant green leaves are supportive to lymph flow and help release stagnation.

BODY
The aromatic constituents of Rose Geranium are said to have a balancing effect on the endocrine system, especially helping with hormonal fluctuations – offering support during menstruation, menopause, and other cyclical transitions. Use for microbial imbalances of any kind on the body, and as a grounding, botanical alternative to chemical repellents, discouraging unwitting pests like mosquitoes, flies, fleas, and ticks.

    Our Rose Geranium Fields
    I step out my front door, bare feet in the soil.

    I walk forward, and just in front of me are rows of Rose Geranium – a sea of vibrant green, dotted with pink flowers – one particular plant is so high that it’s now at my height! I make a sharp right to walk in between the rows of flowers. My hands run through the leaves as I pass through – the scent is overwhelming – unmistakable, a bit herbaceous, peppery, and floral all at once. Once I get to the end of the row, in front of me is that morning’s Rose Geranium harvest – being loaded into the still.

    It has been a decade-long dream to get to this moment – to be more intimately involved in this process of seed to bottle. For it all to be happening here – at our home. It only makes sense that our very first Laurel Skin Farm offering is Rose Geranium.

    When my energy feels stuck, Rose Geranium acts as a jolt, putting me immediately into my body and connected to my truest inner self. It shifts my perspective or my mood and prepares me for great change and transformation. It lifts feelings of stagnation and murkiness.

    Since moving to the farm, this Hydrosol has already proven to be a great ally to our new pups. I spray it generously on them before our adventures outside to help with flea and tick prevention. It has a skin affinity for firming and strengthening, and is a foundational ingredient in our Effortless Cleanser and Hydrating Elixir I.
