Eye Balm

A concentrated moisturizer for the delicate eye area, Eye Balm helps reduce visible fine lines and dryness, while firming and strengthening the skin. Soothing and relieving medicinal herbs are combined with bioflavonoid-rich, unrefined oils to provide the nutrients needed to regenerate, repair, and protect against oxidative stress.

KEY ACTIONS

  • Deeply moisturizes and locks in hydration
  • Provides the nutrients needed to firm and tonify
  • Soothing botanicals to reduce visible inflammation

SKIN TYPE

Suitable for all skin types

Formulated with 25 whole plants, Eye Balm includes an infusion of fresh, whole medicinal herbs steeped for three lunar cycles combined with a blend of fresh, unrefined oils chosen specifically for the delicate eye area. This combination promotes repair and regeneration, resulting in deeply moisturized and visibly firmer skin, with a noticeable minimization in the appearance of fine lines.

Flavonoid and resveratrol-rich fruits and berries help to tonify and strengthen connective tissue. CRANBERRY, RED GRAPE, and BILBERRY have an herbal affinity for collagen and structural matrix. The building of connective tissue and strengthening of capillaries over time not only increases firmness and elasticity but also reduces the appearance of dark circles.

Occlusive and cushioned oils, abundant in omega-3 and phytoceramides, provide the deeper moisturizing element to the Eye Balm. POMEGRANATEBORAGE and a pinch of BEESWAX give the balm its soft structure, allowing these nutrients to remain present on the skin while the formula slowly melts into place.

Deeply powerful anti-inflammatory herbs, including Licorice and Chamomile, soothe the delicate skin around the eye, easing stagnation and puffiness. Nutritive, tonic herbs like NETTLE and FENNEL have a long-standing history of supporting eye health, and these plants ground the formula.

Hints of microdosed essential oils may be detected; LAVENDER, HELICHRYSUM, SANDALWOOD and MYRRH are included for their therapeutic relationship with inflammation, skin repair, and connective tissue support.

When weighing the differences between the Eye Serum and the Eye Balm, most make their choice based on textural preference. The Eye Serum is sometimes preferred for daytime use, a lightweight droplet that absorbs quickly, well-suited to pre-makeup application. The Eye Balm is a richer moisturizer for those with drier skin types, and is sometimes preferred for evening use. Using both is also common, and in that case, we recommend Eye Serum in the AM and Eye Balm in the PM.

USAGE
Scoop out a very tiny amount of Eye Balm (about 1/8 of a pea size). Using a fingertip, apply to the under-eye area and circle around the orbital bone. Avoid tear ducts and lash lines. Apply to clean skin prior to primary moisturizer.

RITUAL
While a topical formula can support this delicate tissue, the most visible shifts often happen when plants are combined with warmth, circulation, and gentle massage. To reduce puffiness in the eyes, you should start with the neck.

Begin after cleansing by pressing a warm towel into the face, neck, and chest. Repeat this compress several times, allowing the warmth to soften tissue and encourage movement through the lymphatic and circulatory pathways in the neck and chest.

Mist the skin generously with Elixir, then apply Eye Balm along the orbital bone beneath the eye. Using light pressure, massage in small inward circles: from the lower orbital bone upward to the brow, then circle back around toward the inner eye.

Pause just beneath the brow bone and press gently while taking a slow breath in.

All massage should remain intuitive and comfortable. Finish your ritual with another mist of Elixir and your moisturizing Serum and/or Balm.

BALM RESTORATION
If your Balm melts in transit, it could have textural changes that make it less smooth. While this does not affect product performance, a smooth Balm texture is often more desirable. If you would like to restore your Balm’s texture, follow the instructions in this video. Do not leave your Balm in a hot location like your car or near a sunny window.

Use within 6 months of opening and by the recommended use-by date, which is found on the bottom of the bottle. Store this product in a cool, dry, and dark place.

Ëšorganically grown ingredient

Laurel Skin formulas set a benchmark for high ingredient and formulation standards that the beauty industry would collectively consider unreasonable. Here are a few highlights that set our Eye Balm apart:

  • Exclusive use of freshly pressed, unrefined, virgin oils to maintain antioxidant and nutrient availability
  • Exclusive use of 100% organic, biodynamic and regeneratively grown plants
  • A 3-month whole-plant infusion in every bottle
  • No lab-made, synthetic isolates, bioidenticals, or biomimetics – only whole plants
  • Micro-dosed essential oils for immediate phytonutrient support, without overwhelming the skin
  • The abbreviated list above cannot be found elsewhere – our level of care and integrity is proudly unreasonable.

    The Eyes as a Window
Puffiness or dark circles around the eyes are rarely just a surface concern. In herbal traditions, it is linked to lymph stagnation, overall systemic inflammation, and the body’s fluid balance, which can be influenced by kidney function, sleep, and stress.

Topical plants can support delicate eye tissue, but visible change happens more visibly when skincare is paired with simple self-care rituals. Gentle massage, warm compresses, and supporting circulation can help encourage movement through the lymphatic pathways around the eyes and face.

Persistent puffiness or dark circles may also be a signal to look more broadly at nourishment, rest, and sunlight. As herbalists, we often see the skin as a reflection of internal balance. The small daily rituals we practice for the body can be just as important as the plants we apply to it.
