Our whole-plant, powdered Treatment Masks are formulated to provide meaningful symptom-specific support to the skin. Antioxidant Mask restores vibrancy, providing high doses of specific plant compounds to support the skin’s innate antioxidant and structural integrity.

The most nutrient-dense formula across our collection, Antioxidant Mask features 24 whole plants in an intentionally layered infusion of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, polysaccharides, and bioavailable antioxidants.

Tonic greens such as DANDELION LEAF, LEMON BALM, and NETTLE provide foundational micronutrients that support cellular activity and antioxidant defense. ECHINACEA protects and stabilizes hyaluronic acid, while raw ceremonial CACAO provides strengthening polyphenols and enzymatic catalyzation. NONI and ARONIA provide vitamin C and fruit acids to brighten skin tone. REISHI and CHAGA contribute hydrating polysaccharides and B vitamins, as do mineral-rich seaweeds like KOMBU and SPIRULINA – all deeply replenishing to connective tissue, restoring plumpness and firmness to the skin.

We use sustainably sourced RHASSOUL CLAY, closer to a mineral-dense mud than a drying clay. Rich in silica and magnesium, it softens and refines texture while helping to quiet visible redness, dryness, and irritation.

JASMINE brings both botanical potency and a deeply sensorial ritual, combined with resins of FRANKINCENSE, VETIVER, and MYRRH, grounding the formula with a warm, earthy finish.

USAGE
Scoop 1 teaspoon or less of Antioxidant Mask into a Mask Bowl and trickle a bit of water in with fingertips. Using approximately twice as much water as Mask, mix into a runny paste. Allow the Mask to rest and steep (like tea) for a few minutes. Steeping will cause the Mask to thicken and activate its enzymes and water-soluble nutrients. Apply gently to clean, dampened face and neck with the Laurel Skin Mask Brush. Keep the Mask hydrated, which will keep the Mask activated and prevent it from drying on the skin. The longer the Mask is left on, the more frequently it will need to be rehydrated. Rehydrate the Mask with a wet Mask Brush, wet fingertips, a mister bottle of water, or steam from a bath or shower. Leave on for 10-30 minutes. Fully rehydrate to loosen the Mask with your fingertips, then remove gently with a warm cloth.

Using a whole-plant powdered mask like ours is a unique experience. Apply before a warm bath or shower so the steam can effortlessly keep the mask hydrated and activated while the body unwinds. As the freshly activated botanicals rest on the skin, the experience is best described as a deep infusion of nourishment. The ritual naturally invites you to pause and receive on a level we rarely allow ourselves. Be still. Let the vibrant nutrients flood your skin with replenishment. The scent of fresh herbs and earthy roots calms and grounds the mind. And when you’re ready to remove, the Mask rinses away easily down the drain.

Use within 12 months of opening and by the recommended use-by date, which is found on the bottom of the jar. Store this product in a cool, dry, and dark place. Keep contents of jar dry and free from moisture.

    Activation and Bioavailability
    Antioxidant Mask was the first mask Laurel formulated at the beginning of Laurel Skin. It reflects her early, unrestrained enthusiasm for plant medicine and her desire to offer the most abundant superfood feast possible for the skin. The result remains one of the most dynamic and nutrient-diverse masks we have ever made.

    Powdered masks are the best possible way to deliver water-soluble plant nutrients, keeping them fresh and protecting them from the oxidation and metabolic breakdown process that occurs in a pre-emulsified product. This keeps the phytonutrients as bioavailable and potent as possible. Powdered masks also do not require preservation, which is something we avoid whenever possible to better support the health of our microbiome. We do all of our plant processing and powdering in-house, which is unheard of in the industry. This extra step helps keep the whole plant nutrients as antioxidant-rich and effective as possible.

    Our Masks are activated with water, which is the perfect neutral solvent for water-soluble compounds. These flavonoids, saccharides, minerals, tannins, acids, and enzymes disperse freely into water and are immediately bioavailable for our skin. Keeping the powdered Masks hydrated is necessary and can be tricky, but this important usage step keeps those nutrients activated. Our Masks are lymph supportive, and therefore, it is helpful to apply them all the way down the neck and chest.
